Mr. Dorcel is deservedly a renowned creator of beautiful European Porn Films. The French actresses exceed the definition of erotic; They possess the rare quality which Norman Mailer once saw in Marilyn Monroe ---- "flesh impact", as Mailer described it, was the Monroe's sensuality coming across on film in a way where you FELT her skin, just by looking at her image on a screen. How it is possible for Mr. Dorcel to consistently find women who transmit that sensuality through the camera, is amazing. Nonetheless, I do feel that there is one flaw he has been unable to control during the past decade and it is the all-pervasive fashion of women shaving off their pubic hair. Pretty much all of his latter-day models appear with little or no pubic hair; so you get that plain vanilla monotony of seeing a pubis that belongs in a baby bath training film. In his earlier generation of films, the slender brunettes have an eroticism which cannot be separated from the jaw-dropping black forest which covers their vulva and extends all the wway back to encircle their anus. There are no breasts shaped like baseballs. I imagine that for a twenty year old guy today, the effect would leave him wanting a one-way ticket to Paris. Alas, if he were able to score with one of this class of beauties, he would not find that black forest. It is fortunate that Mr. Dorcel captured that era. If women stop following each other's slavery to fashion, perhaps the almighty thong will readjust to accomodate something which nature provided for a reason. When the ladies shave it off so as to allow for ever more risque` lingerie, they let us guys peek at the border of a letdown.
